Weekly Passage - for week of 9/14/03

"Gautama had a wife and a young child, but in the middle of the night he kissed his family good-bye, leaving them, his riches, and his palace, to don the beggar's robe and to begin his journey on the religious path in an attempt to find the law, or principle, which would eliminate sin, disease, death, lack, and limitation from the earth. He did not set out to be a healer; he did not set out to heal this person or that person: He set out with only one purpose -- to find a principle which would eliminate sin, disease, death, and limitation from the earth."
