Weekly Passage - for week of 7/3/05

"...it gives me always so much joy to speak the Word 'Immanuel' of the Hebrews and the Word 'Tao' of the Chinese, and the term 'The Christ' of our Christian age. All of these words to me mean something like a cloud that I can almost feel behind me from the shoulders on up, arching itself over my head. Always I have that sense or presence of that protecting influence, of that Divine Influence, of that Inner Guidance that comes from that cloud around my shoulders. Not a cloud in the sense of a shutting out; but a cloud, rather, in the sense of a light foam, something upon which one can almost lean back and feel - really, - a supporting cloud.

"That, to me, is Immanuel, Tao, Christ. That, to me, is God-with-me. It is my assurance that I am never alone. It is my conscious awareness of the Presence and of the Power of God. And therefore I can sense it as it goes before me to make the crooked places straight, as it goes before me to prepare every step of the way for that which is to come."
