Infinite Way Study Practice

The following study practice is designed for those students who already have at least some background with Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way teaching. My first recommendation would be that you go to the source text or tape where these messages are presented and listen to the original instruction.

Where are the problems of human life located? Where did they come from? What is the substance of human lack, limitation, and loss? Within this study practice we are given the opportunity to gain new depths of conscious awareness regarding the nature of these problems in our human life. In gaining this conscious awareness of the nature of human problems we are simultaneously gaining an awareness of the real things of life too, and therefore, the Reality about ourselves. This should inspire us to not neglect taking inventory of where our apparent defects originated. In knowing where and how we acquired the problems we begin the process of cleansing our Inner Temple and thereby become a clear vehicle for the Light and Love of God to shine through us. The tape transcripts that are used for this study practice are from Joel Goldsmith's 1959 Manchester Closed Class entitled "Specific Principles and Application." From the very name of the lecture we can see that this is a true spiritual workbook. We are going to get into very 'specific principles and application'. So when Joel says, "Is there any way to overcome this inertia that prevents us from giving ourselves wholeheartedly to the spiritual way of life?" we can be assured that a very specific answer and application will be supplied. Read the tape transcripts Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 that are provided on this web site. You may want to read these at three separate sittings just to give yourself a slower more deliberate approach to this study rather than quickly reading everything at once. Or you may wish to read everything through one time all at once and then come back and read each section separately. The important point is to really give yourself to each syllable that is provided on the pages. It is so easy to miss something in a spiritual teaching because the answers are always buried within you and usually it takes a slow uncovering process to get to the deeper levels of the teaching. One of the vital aspects to this particular lesson is the realization that we who have been given a degree of spiritual discernment must always be faithful to the Word that we have already received within us. This faithfulness must come now in the daily remembrance of "choose this day whom you shall serve?" It is we that have received the Grace of knowing the Truth and it is we who must make a conscious effort every day to choose to serve God. To serve God is to let ourselves become that clear vehicle of Love by understanding that mental inertia is the only obstacle to Divine fulfillment. Inertia means to resist motion or activity. Mental inertia then, is the universal belief in a separation apart from God which is actually a no-thing -- a dead, lifeless nothing. Our mind is never meant to be inactive. Even in our deepest meditative states our mind should be very active. The difference is that they are now active to the Word of God spoken within us rather than to the human thinking patterns which are an endless loop of resistance. You will experience as you practice this particular lesson that the conscious activity of Joel that brought forth these lectures, is the same conscious activity within you. That is why those of us on this Path are drawn to go further and further. We see ourselves mirrored in the words of Joel, and moreover, we see ourselves mirrored in the Consciousness of Joel. So just remember -- read the tape transcripts, and give yourself to every word and every space between every word. In doing this you will effortlessly arrive right in the present moment and you will find all the answers to the things of 'this world', as well as the answers about the Truth of man and the Truth of God, revealing themselves unto Thee!
