Infinite Way Study Practice
January-March 2006

The following study practice is designed for those students who already have at least some background with Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way teaching. My first recommendation would be that you go to the source text or tape where these messages are presented and listen to the original instruction.

Adapted From Joel Goldsmith's
"Consciousness Unfolding" - Chapter 9 - The Christ

In the companion study lesson for this practice we are shown how the Christ is not something that we can define or interpret of our own self -- of our own mental level of understanding. We were shown that the Christ is not only undefinable it is also unattainable to those that are in a state of grasping after it. The reason for this is to be found in the ninth chapter of Joel Goldsmith's "Consciousness Unfolding". In this chapter entitled The Christ we are shown that the attainment of the Christ is not accomplished by normal human means.

Here is a short passage from the chapter:

"If you accept the Christ in your consciousness, you must take the next step also and see that the embodiment or body of the Christ is the temple not 'made with hands.' It is spiritual and incorporeal. Do not try to use Spirit to help matter. Do not try to use Spirit to increase your matter. Do not try to use Spirit to decrease your matter. Do not try to use Spirit to destroy your enemies. Do not try to use Spirit!"

As long as we are seeking the Christ for any other reason than the attainment of It we are trying to use Christ for a material purpose and we will fail to attain It. If we seek It for better relationships, human happiness, health, wealth, or employment we will not come into the atmosphere of the Christ experience. We may attain the relationship, money, or job but we will only be fooling ourselves if we believe they are spiritual.

The Christ has no form or substance. To attain It you must leave all for My sake. Who's sake? Mine -- with a capital M. This is the "I" that I am. This is all that I am. This is Me.

The only way to find this freedom is to stay on the level of spirit and never bring ourselves down into a state where we accept a finite world, self, or God. We must accept ourselves as the embodiment of God because anything less than that is sin. How can we do it? We do it by realizing the work is not ours. "The Christ within doeth the work."

For one final reminder for this lesson please read the following meditation from "Consciousness Unfolding" contained on this site.
