Infinite Way Study Practice
April-June 2006

The following study practice is designed for those students who already have at least some background with Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way teaching. My first recommendation would be that you go to the source text or tape where these messages are presented and listen to the original instruction.

Adapted From Joel Goldsmith's 1957 Second Halekou Closed Class -
Individual Discovery of Truth - Master #193 - Tape 1 - Side 2

When we are brought to an enlightened teaching such as the Infinite Way there are many facets to the instruction which are presented to us. There can be more than one message in operation within the same paragraph or sentence. Two individuals may read the same passage in a book or listen to the same segment of a tape, and each may come away with a different impression. That is because the words themselves do not contain a singular literal truth that can be memorized and studied in the same manner as we would go about studying for a spelling test. The beauty of this is that the same book can be read and re-read many times over and it will always bring forth a new experience to the individual who is atuned to the evolving spiritual path that they are traveling. This also explains why some people can read the same book many times over and have no higher understanding on the tenth time as they did on the first. Usually this is because they are not really ready to come to the teaching in its pure form -- Consciousness. Instead they will read the material with a mind set that Joel is the teacher and they are the student, and they are trying to fill themselves with that which Joel knows so that they can know the same things. The problem with this 'knowing' model is that the Kingdom of God is not attained by knowing more and yet the entire purpose of the Infinite Way is to experience the Kingdom of God individually within us. Therefore, we can stop right now believing that if we just read another book or listen to the right tape that we are going to learn our way into the Kingdom of God. This is no such formula in all of God's Kingdom.

The tape transcript we will use for this study practice is a great example of a multi-faceted presentation which will operate in the Consciousness of any sincere student as long as we realize that this teaching is not about God, Joel, the Bible, and me -- it is only about One -- and that One encompasses all aspects of the presentation from the voice which brings forth the words, to the eyes that see them and the ears that hear them, to the Biblical references, to the present day analogies -- all of these can be summed up in one word -- Consciousness. If we remember that Consciousness is the key then we can honor Joel as the messenger while at the same time we understand that his voice is our voice, and that we have individual access to our own God-inspired impartations which flow to and through us continually.

The tape transcript for this lesson is entitled Individual Discovery of Truth and it is broken up into Part One, Part Two, and Parth Three. As you read these three pages be particularly aware that what you are really doing is finding your true Self within the Consciousness of that which brought forth the words. Be aware that it is not nearly as important to capture mentally what is being said as it is to find something in the words that will take you deeper inside your Self. We do not worry about what direction that might take, whether or not it lives up to any spiritual standard we have in our minds, or whether any of our fellow travelers will approve of where we are led. We are now trusting our own Presence enough to allow God (the Only One really present) to lead us. And the journey is one that takes place on an interior landscape without pictures and without words. Pictures and words may come to us, and they will come as a manifestation of Truth individually experienced.

Now there is no reason in using more words to express that which is already here. Therefore,

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
John 14:12
